Zack Bowden

Zack began playing drums at the age of 11 and throughout high school played many jazz festivals including the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, Folsom Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, and the Reno Jazz Festival. He won two oustanding soloist award including the Louis Armstrong Award during the Folsom Jazz Festival making him the first drummer to win this award.

Zack attended college at California State University Chico where he earned three different scholarships for drumset and orchestral percussion and recieved his Bachelors degree in music and played in many of the ensembles including the Chico State Wind Ensemble, Northstate Symphony, and the Jazz X-Press.

Zack has had the oppurtunity to play alongside many great jazz artists throughout his college career including Bobby Shew, Greg Gisbert (Buddy Rich), Paul Romaine, Vinnie Falcon (Frank Sinatra), John Gunther, Rocky Winslow (Director of CSUC Jazz Studies), and Terry Richards (Tower of Power).

Zack now plays gigs around Sacramento and Chico and is currently playing in the following projects: Jackie Greene, The Benny's, Chingus, The Dave Elke Trio, Roberta Chevrette, and the Shegemi Minetaka Trio.
