Marcus Schmidt

Bass Guitar / Vocals

Marcus started playing bass at the age of 15 with a garage band in his hometown of Morgan Hill, CA. Inspired by the deep sounds of his first bass guitar, Nina, he began practicing for 6 plus hours a day in his garage, and did not give up his love for the instrument any time thereafter.

Marcus attended CSU Chico and received a BA in Music, along side Mark Gonzales, Zack Bowden, Adam Walter, and Glenn Keithly. This was where the voyage truly began and Chingus was formed. The music and friendships that Chingus made over the years was what made it possible to reach such rich musical plateaus together. Marcus never looked back.

During his years in Chico, Marcus played with such artists as Marquesa Versola Trio, Bryn Loosely, the Chris Schadt band, and Mike Comfort of Thirst, amongst others.

Today Marcus continues to "slap the bass" with many talented musicians.
